Sounds like a scam. No respectable company would require you to have a bank account and use it to transfer money.

the latest incarnation of the nigerian 419 scam. They offer easy money for little work, and make it look like there is no risk to you. In fact, they play on your greed with a proposal to have large payments sent to your account and all you have to do is forward the money to them after taking commission, and sometimes expenses. This wont go down this way, what will happen is that there will be a cashiers check or something like it that will take your bank a while to clear it, while at the same time you will issue a payment to them and they will abscond with your funds before you get a notice from your bank that the original funds that deposited were returned. At which time you will be liable for those funds. Heck, if they are old school grifters you may even get one or two legitimate transactions before a big one just to sink the hook in deeper. But make no mistake, this is no a legitimate business and you will get robbed if you sign up.
Some items to note: They will try to gain your trust by saying that all they need is the basic information from the front of your check, information that you basically give everyone that you write a check to; so what can be the risk?
Also, they may have you fill out an employment application but they wont ask for your social security number, that would scare you off. But any legitimate company would require that for employment. They will put a whole lot of other b.s. to make it look legit, such as prior employment and references and ask whether they can contact these references.
There will also be a description of the job with standard items such as a requirement for word and excel skills, ability to make deadlines, etc. All made to look like a real job. Most of the time these are written poorly with obvious translation errors, but I have noticed that they are getting better at editing these to avoid glaring mistakes that a big company would not make in a job description.
They may also suggest opening a new account in order to protect yourself and keep the business portion of your affairs in order. This is just to gain your trust, they will find a way to get to your money, trust me.
You wont be able to trace the email but it will come from some major carrier such as yahoo, gmail, hotmail or one of the network or telecom sites like juno. But it probably wont come from: hr@worldimportgroup.com because that does not exist. But why would an HR rep for a large import/export company be handling these things over a personal email account outside the company? This will change too in the future as they more sophisticated but read the last line of this post, heed it and you will avoid getting ripped off in the future no matter how good they get at it.
Anyway, screw with them, waste their time, have fun with it, but dont give them any information. And remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch and if it looks too good to be true it most likely is.
